This chapter describes the initial setup tasks to install a Precisely application.

Important: Make sure that you have read Installation Considerations before proceeding.

The instructions in this and subsequent chapters assume that all applications installed will share the same JVM.

Note: If you need to install applications on more than one JVM, see Advanced Deployment.

Before you install the application, complete the tasks described in this chapter. A database administrator typically performs the initial database setup steps.

OKTA and LDAP configuration: It is recommended to review and update the application server properties, including OKTA authentication configuration, LDAP signing, and Kerberos settings, to match your environment. These configurations must be completed before starting the installation or running the deployment script. If your organization requires LDAP signing and Kerberos authentication for WildFly or Liberty, ensure these steps are performed as part of the pre-installation process. For detailed instructions, refer to Configure properties.

A working knowledge of the installation environment is required to perform these tasks and the tasks in the chapters that follow.
