The rule member RTMRULES in the DTS.R71.SLyyddd.SAMPLIB and the records defined in the @MONDB and associated members contain the required rules and records to be used by the SCC Explorer/RT and GUI components. However, the SCC Monitor/ Realtime is not limited to the functionality of the GUI. Basically, any DADSM event can be monitored and recorded in various ways and placed in a sequential dataset, or messages issued to a user, logfile, system logger or SMF. Any records produced by RTM can be used as input into user written programs such as SAS or EZ-trieve for reporting, and/or can be downloaded to a PC for report generation or database queries. The raw data in the records can also be browsed with an editor.
The following examples show alternate uses for the Realtime Monitor.
