Installation of Assure QuickEDD HA requires to run the command PMSYSTAG before completing the installation process.

Note: This step requires a special profile defined as a Service Tool user ID.
Note: If you already have an authorized profile defined in SST, it can be used for PMSYSTAG command – Go directly to step Run command PMSYSTAG.
  1. Signon with QSECOFR profile.
  2. Run command STRSST, and enter an authorized profile.
  3. Select option 8 “Work with service tools user IDs and Devices”.

  4. Use option 1 to access the SST user IDs.

  5. Use option 1 to create a new user.

  6. Enter the name and password of the user ID to create (PMSOFT/PMSOFTPWD are given as a sample).
    Note: Enter a password in UPPERCASE and choose a password different from the name of the profile.
  7. Add a description, and set the password “not to expire”.

Give all authorizations to the user ID

Press F5 to display the authorities of the user ID. Then, grant all authorizations. Press enter and exit SST.

Checklist before running PMSYSTAG command

  • Sub system QINTER must be started
  • System values
    • QAUTOVRT must be equal to *NOMAX.
    • QDSPSGNINF must be equal to 0. In the description of the profile which will run PMSYSTAG command, DSPSGNINF must be equal to *SYSVAL or *NO.
    • QLMTSECOFR must be equal to 0 if you use QSECOFR profile to run the command.
    • QLMTDEVSSN must be equal to 0. In the description of the profile which will run PMSYSTAG command, LMTDEVSSN must be equal to *SYSVAL or *NO.
    • QALWUSRDMN must be equal to *ALL, or must contain at least QGPL and all Assure QuickEDD HA libraries.
  • If needed, precise a virtual device in vary on pending status, which has the right to use QINTER.
    WRKCFGSTS CFGTYPE(*DEV) CFGD(*DSP)
    DSPSBSD SBSD(QINTER) then option 5

Automatic checking of the list above

The OPTIONAL command:

PMSYSTAG OPT(*PGV) PGM(PMEDH/*ALL)

displays all elements to be modified, if there are some, before launching the command with option *PGM.

After using option *PGV, enter DSPJOBLOG.

Here is the list of errors which can appear, and must be fixed before using option *PGM of the PMSYSTAG command:

Run command PMSYSTAG *PGM

This MANDATORY command will allow the Assure QuickEDD HA programs to run:

Enter the password in UPPERCASE, as defined in SST.

Device type *DBCS must be used if the *DEVD is 5555.

The command does a check of all programs and submits a batch job, PMSYSTAGM.

After receiving the completion message, you can continue the installation process.

Note: Check the joblog of PMSYSTAGM, which must show that all programs have been processed without any error.
