To verify that data is entering a model dataset for a specific field, follow these steps in Splunk Web:
Log on as an Administrator.
Go to Settings > Data models.
Select to Edit Datasets for the Ironstream for IBM i data model.
Select the dataset that contains the field that you want to verify.
Select the field that you want to verify from either the EXTRACTED or CALCULATED section of the dataset and click Edit from the row corresponding to that field.
Click the Preview button.
When the search completes you should see sample entries for the selected field from matching (Collection Services) Splunk events in the bottom half of the page.
If you see sample data, the field is being populated. If necessary, repeat steps 4-6 for another field.
