There has been a change to the process for importing IBM i frames (physical machines) and LPARs into a ServiceNow instance using the Domain Separation plug-in.
With this release, when Discovery is run as the user that is specified as the LPAR Owner in the Configuration Tool, the discovery of an LPAR will also return the frame's serial number so that a frame CI can be created or updated. The frame CI will exist in the domain of the Frame Owner.
When Discovery is run as the user that is specified as the Frame Owner in the Configuration Tool, only Frame data will be discovered.
The change in behavior supports environments where the LPAR Owner has visibility of the Frame Owner's domain, but the Frame Owner does not have visibility of the LPAR Owner's domain.
