Trillium Geolocation uses the Knowledge Base to parse input addresses, identify address components, validate address components, perform address searching, correctly format output addresses, and assign geocodes (latitude / longitude coordinates), and other enhancements to addresses.
The Trillium Geolocation JAN / 2025Q1 Data Update contains Knowledge Base improvements for the following countries and territories:
Brazil
The parsing process for Brazil has been updated to improve recognition of additional patterns of street type (‘Rod BR 106’/’Rod BR-106’).
Eswatini
The parsing process for Eswatini has been updated to recognize additional city variants of ‘Matsapha’.
Gibraltar
The address validation table for Gibraltar has been updated to include postcode (‘GX11 1AA’), and had the region field removed. Its validation rules have been optimized to match valid addresses without city, and certain street types have been updated to the correct postal format (‘Rd’ to ‘Road’).
Additionally, the address formatting for Gibraltar will now correctly display postcode in a separate line, following postal guidelines.
India
The parsing process for India has been updated to correctly standardize the city names of ‘DLC’ and ‘DLC Colony’.
Israel
The parsing process for Israel has been updated to correctly standardize additional variants of city names ‘Bet Nehemya’ and ‘Nes Ziona’.
Indonesia
The address validation table for Indonesia has been updated to include both long and short versions for ‘Kota Tangerang’/’Tangerang’.
Italy
The address validation table for Italy has been updated to include both long and short versions for ‘Reggio di Calabria’/’Reggio Calabria’ and ‘Reggio nell’Emilia’/’Reggio Emilia’.
Additionally, the parsing process for Italy has been updated to correctly standardize the city name ‘Montemagno Monferrato’.
Macao (Chinese and Latin)
The parsing process for Macao (Portuguese) has been updated to improve recognition of additional patterns of date-based street names (‘5 de dezembro’), premise (‘No96’), and sub-building (‘3/F’).
Additionally, the address validation tables for Macao (both Chinese and Portuguese) have been updated to match valid addresses without city.
Peru
The parsing process for Peru has been updated to improve recognition of additional patterns of date-based street names (‘2 de Marzo’), sub-building (‘Int LT12’), and street type (‘cll. 2A’).
The address validation table for Peru now includes additional street type abbreviations for ‘Jirón’/’Jr’ and ‘Pasaje’/’Psje’. Additionally, the address validation rules have been adjusted to better match wide area postcodes.
Spain
The parsing process for Spain has been updated to correct certain Galician, Catalan, Basque and Valencian city names (‘Mungia’/’Munguía’, ‘Sagunt’/’Sagunto’).
Additionally, the address validation table for Spain now includes short versions for ‘Castelló de la Plana’/’Castelló’.
South Korea (Latin)
The address validation table for South Korea (Latin) now includes additional building and company type translations like ‘Stadium’, ‘Branch’, ‘Bank’.
Thailand (Latin)
The parsing process for Thailand (Latin) has been updated to correctly standardize additional variants of city names ‘Din Daeng’ and ‘Huai Khwang’.
United Kingdom
The parsing process for the United Kingdom has been updated to improve recognition of sub-building, building type and street type variants of ‘Manor Farm’.
United States
The address validation table for the United States has been updated to include the urbanization field used in Puerto Rico. Previously this field was only included in the Puerto Rico table.
