For cluster upgrades starting in the Spectrum Technology Platform 2024.1 release, there is a new cluster database load utility.

To migrate and restore the platform configuration database to an upgraded cluster, you must run the separate database load utility. The load utility is run on the writer/leader node in a cluster. If it is run on another node, a prompt tells you which node is the writer node. After you run the utility, the configuration database data is first loaded to the writer/leader node then replicated to the other nodes in the cluster.

Be sure to restart the cluster after you run the Configuration Database load utility. This is required to update module licenses to version 2024.1. If you do not complete this step you will get license exceptions for installed modules.

Important: Running the neo4j-upgrade-utility is a required step to upgrade the Platform Configuration Database for a cluster in Spectrum 2024.1. See the installation guide for cluster upgrades.
