Data formats
Suburbs and Localities Australia data is provided in the following standard file formats:
- MapInfo Extended Tab (.tab)
- Pipe Delimited Text (.psv)
- File Geodatabase (.gdb)

Changes in this release
This release contains the following updates:
- Boundary changes are based on the latest source data:
- New Suburbs: BIRRABANG, BLUE LABYRINTH, BURRAMOKO, CARMARTHEN, GOVETTS, INGAR, JAMISON VALLEY, KARIWOGA, MASSIF RIDGE, MOUNT PORTAL, NARROW NECK, ROCKLILY RIDGE, TESSELATE HILL (NSW)
- Deleted Suburbs: BLUE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK (NSW)
- Renamed Suburbs: BESWICK to WUGULARR, PIGEON HOLE to NITJPURRU (NT)

The structure of the Suburbs and Localities Australia Data Schema has been changed to support Precisely's Data Integrity Suite and SaaS solutions.Note: These are NOT changes to the data files.The Data Schema changes are as follows:
- Refer to the field column definitions on the Notices worksheet. Some of these fields are specific for use with Precisely Software Solutions.
- All CHAR and VARCHAR fields types are represented as TEXT.
- Data type and length are added in two separate columns.
- The following new field columns have been added to the Data Schema:
- sequence_number
- field_friendly_name
- primary_key
- type_code
- table_name
- grouping
- The following field column names have changed:

Future updates
The following DATE field changes will be implemented in June 2025 release.
- Any DATE fields will be changing to a YYYY-MM-DD format
- Any DATE fields will be changing from a TEXT field type to DATE field type.
