The CODE-1 Plus 5.0 release contains the changes listed below. If you need technical assistance, please contact Precisely Support at https://support.precisely.com.
CODE-1 Plus CASS mode is valid through July 31st 2032
The CASS cycle year for CODE-1 Plus 5.0 software is valid through July 31st, 2032 for customers using CODE-1 Plus in CASS mode. We do not expect a CASS patch to CODE-1 Plus 5.0 until 2032.
Mainframe Specific Change
Starting with CODE-1 Plus, 5.0, it is now necessary to add the CITYNM database DDs to any job that is executing C1BM00 on the mainframe. The CITYNM, CITYNAA and CITYNAS are installed as part of the US Postal database installed and were previously only required for CICS.
//CITYNM DD DSN=yourhlq.CODE1P.CITYNM,DISP=SHR
//CITYNM2 DD DSN=yourhlq.CODE1P.CITYNAA,DISP=SHR
//CITYNM1 DD DSN=yourhlq.CODE1P.CITYNAS,DISP=SHR
We have also added these DD statements to the IVPFILE JCL in the 5.0 install library.
If you do not add these DDs to your execution of C1BM00, the following errors will occur:
IEC130I CITYNM DD STATEMENT MISSING
IEC130I CITYNM1 DD STATEMENT MISSING
IEC130I CITYNM2 DD STATEMENT MISSING
Interactive Changes
A New Interactive screen has been introduced to contain all the Delivery Point Validation (DPV) output information including the newly created fields which were added as part of CASS Cycle O.
New Fields to support DPV
- NoStat Reason Code: Defines the location for NoStat Reason Code. NoStat reason code helps mailers identify when they are sending mail to non-delivery addresses. DPVOUT Positions 70–72 now include this field.
- NDD Found: Non-Delivery Days Found Indicator defines a code indicating whether or not to perform a NDD lookup. DPVOUT Positions 62–64 now Include this Field.
- NDD Days: Non-Delivery Days Indicator defines the days that have been designated as non-delivery days.
- Drop: A code indicating whether or not to perform a Drop lookup. If set to true, the verified address does not physically receive mail. Instead, the USPS delivers mail to a 'drop' address associated with the verified address. The new DPVOUT parameter's positions 12–14 Include this field.
- Enhanced Return Code: Enhanced DPV return codes accommodate the request for additional address information. This has been provided as an option for the mailers who require a more detailed explanation of the DPV Status. The new DP2OUT parameter's positions 8–10 Include this field.
- Original DPBC (before TotalDPS calculation): The delivery point barcode (DPBC) enables the Postal Service to sort mail into delivery point (address) sequence by integrating delivery point information.
- Below are the other fields added to DPVOUT parameter :
- Door Not Accessible flag: Position 36-38.
- Throwback flag: Position 40-42.
- No Secure Location flag: Position 44-46
USPS CASS Cycle N Support updated to Cycle O
The Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) measures the accuracy of address matching software based on rules defined by the Postal Service. USPS has been actively working with the mailing industry to perform a new testing cycle referred to as CASS Cycle O. With this release we have updated the USPS CASS Cycle N support to CASS Cycle O.
Precisely ID Processing
For each addressable location, PreciselyID processing provides a unique and persistent identifier to reference the address without storing the whole address string. The PreciselyID further verifies if an address exists, regardless of DPV matching. If the optional PreciselyID database is installed, processing is available in Batch and Interactive. For detailed information about PreciselyID processing, refer to your CODE-1 Plus Installation Guide.
Additionally, to link the PreciselyID to other data (i.e., geoenrichment), Precisely has done the complex matching for you. Use PreciselyID as the gateway to the rest of the Precisely data portfolio. Contact your Sales Representative for more information, based on your specific needs.
Database
- A new database layout introduced for the 5.0 release. This database is available immediately.
- 5.0 is not backward compatible with prior releases.
- 4.x release databases are not forward compatible.
- Starting May 2023, databases from previous versions, namely 4.x, will no longer be distributed; they will still be usable through July 2023.
Note: Database will be valid in CASS mode for 3 months after May 2023. It can continue
in non-CASS mode indefinitely without DPV, LACSLink, etc, and will not reflect current data.
