To enable the JDBC encryption option for IBM i servers, you must configure IBM i servers and clients to use a TLS certificate for encrypted communication.

Configuring Connect CDC to encrypt data when processing from a remote system is a multi-step process:

  1. Install required software/products on the IBM i source system as described under the prerequisites section.

  2. Creating a Digital Certificate and Certificate Store on the IBM i system.

  3. Adding the Certificate to the truststore on the Connect CDC host system.

  4. Changing the IBM i JDBC properties to be “secure”.
