Note: You do not need to run this command if the License Manager or MIMIX instance library is already *PUBLIC *EXCLUDE.
  • The Check Library References (CHKLIBREF) command checks for all the MIMIX and License Manager instances or the specified instance library for references to the library in QUSRLIBL and QSYSLIBL system values, user profiles attributes, and job descriptions. Additionally, the command checks for the related libraries to the instance, License Manager library (LAKEVIEW), and the Precisely LPP library (VSI001LIB).

Note: Any user profile that does not have all-object authority (*ALLOBJ), individual or group profile authority, or authority by an authorization list to the library will not have access to the library and the objects within it once the library authority for *PUBLIC is changed to *EXCLUDE.
Note: It is recommended to run the CHKLIBREF command on each of the MIMIX instances that you have installed.

To check the product library instances using the CHKLIBREF command, do the following:

  1. On the command line, type LAKEVIEW/CHKLIBREF and press F4 to prompt the command.

  2. The Check Library References (CHKLIBREF) appears. Specify values for the following prompts:

    • Product instance library (PRODLIB): Specify the name of the instance library to check for references to the library. Provide a value:

      • The default value is *ALL. Use this value to check for the references from License Manager and all the MIMIX product instances.

      • The library name for the MIMIX or License Manager product instance.

    • Include authority check (INCLAUTCHK): Specifies whether to check whether user profiles will retain authority to the instance library they reference even if the public authority of the library is set to *EXCLUDE. Choose one of the following values:

      • The default value *NO does not check the individual, group profiles, or authorization list authorities to the instance library.

      • The value *YES checks that a user profile with attributes that reference the instance library has authority to the instance library by the individual, group profiles, or authorization list authorities when *PUBLIC authority is changed to *EXCLUDE.

  3. You can optionally specify the value for OUTPUT to display or print the output of the command.

  4. To generate this list of references, press Enter.

  5. Review and resolve the list of reported errors for the following references. You have the option of resolving the references for:
    • Job description: You can choose from the following options:

      • Change the attribute listed to an object in a different library, or for Initial library list, and remove the Precisely library from the attribute.

      • Ensure all users of the JOBD is given appropriate private authority to the Precisely library.

    • QUSRLIBL and QSYSLIBL system values: You can choose from the following options:

      • It is highly recommended to remove the Precisely library from the system value.

      • Give appropriate authority access to all the user profile using the system value from the Initial library list.

    • User profile: You can choose from the following options:

      • Change the attribute listed in the error message so that it is in a different library than the Precisely library.

      • Give the user the required authority to access the reported library.

Note: Any reported references to the library must have appropriate authority for any user profile referencing the library or objects within it before you change the library authority for *PUBLIC to *EXCLUDE.
