To perform a database repair, you may use the Assure MIMIX for AIX's “virtual restore” operation, recovering a snapshot image of the database to some point in the past on the writable snapshot, and then a “pick and pull” operation to extract pieces of data from that snapshot for reinsertion into the production database.
In this repair scenario, only some pieces of data are corrupted but the production database is still running. After you restore a historical, non-burning image of the database on the snapshot, you can pull pieces out of it and put them back into the live production database to repair the bad pieces of data.
