A high-availability cluster consists of two nodes that share at least one, and preferably several, communication links, and typically one or more sets of storage devices. The cluster component services, manage generic applications and their dependent resources providing continuous availability of the application, Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity to the application, and the application's access to its data.
