To work with replication groups, on the MIMIX Main Menu move the cursor to Replication Groups and press Enter. The Replication Groups configuration menu will appear. From here replication groups can be added/configured, removed, or shown.
Add/Configure a Replication Group
- Move the cursor to Add/configure a Replication Group and press Enter.
The Add/Configure a Replication Group menu that appears provides choices for defining a replication group, running a volume discovery, adding or removing volumes from replication groups, and configuring/synchronizing a replication group.
Move the cursor to Define a Replication Group and press Enter.
The Define a Replication Group appears.
Enter the primary and failover context numbers, the replication group name,the production node, and the recovery node in Define a Replication Group panel. Also add the recovery node 2 if this is a 3-node configuration. The request to define the replication group is submitted.
- Move the cursor to Run a Volume Discovery and press Enter.
Select a replication group to run the volume discovery from the resulting
Select Replication Group panel and press Enter.
To configure/add physical volumes to a Replication Group:
- Move the cursor to Configure/Add Physical Volumes and press Enter.
The Configure/Add Physical Volumes menu appears.
To create a Volume Group
- Move the cursor to Create a Volume Group and press Enter.
- Select a node on the resulting Select Node panel and click Enter. The volume group will be created on this node.
- Fill in all required entry fields and press Enter. This will submit the request to create a volume group.
To Add Physical Volumes to a Volume Group
- Move the cursor to To Add Physical Volumes to a Volume Group and press Enter.
- Select a Volume Group on the resulting Select a Volume Group panel and click Enter.
- Fill in all required entry fields and press Enter. The will submit the request to add volumes to the Selected Volume Group.
To Remove Physical Volumes from a Volume Group
- Move the cursor to To Remove Physical Volumes to a Volume Group and press Enter.
- Select a Volume Group on the resulting Select a Volume Group panel and click Enter.
- Fill in all required entry fields and press Enter. The will submit the request to remove volumes from the Selected Volume Group.
To Remove a Volume Group
- Move the cursor to Remove a Volume Group and press Enter.
- Select a Volume Group on the resulting Select a Volume Group panel and click Enter.
- The Volume Group and the Node containing it will be displayed on the next screen, these fields are just for information and not editable. Then please Enter to remove the Volume Group. The screen will be displayed to confirm the action.
To Add Physical Volumes to a Replication Group
- Move the cursor to Add Physical Volumes to a Replication Group and press Enter.
- Select a replication group to add discovered volumes on the resulting Select Replication Group panel and click Enter. Discovered volumes will appear on the resulting Select Physical Volumes.
- Select physical volumes to be added to the replication group and press Enter. Note: A preceding ‘@’ indicates the volume was already added.Additionally, you can perform the below steps to choose multiple volumes and add physical volumes in a specific volume group:
- To select one or more volumes, move the cursor to them and press F7.
- To add all physical volumes in a specific volume group, select ALL_Physical_Volumes_IN_vg_name (where, vg_name is the volume group name) and move the cursor to it and press F7.
- Select one recovery volume group by moving the cursor to it and press Enter. The request to add the volumes to the replication group is submitted. The user can select __PRODUCTION_MATCH__ option. In this case, the recovery volume group will match the production volume group for all selected volumes.
To Remove Physical Volume Configuration
- Move the cursor to Remove Physical Volume Configuration and press Enter.
The screen will be displayed to confirm the action.
- Move the cursor to Add Volumes to a Replication Group and press Enter.
Select a replication group to add discovered volumes on the resulting Select Replication Group panel and click Enter.
Discovered volumes will appear on the resulting Select Logical Volumes
panel.
Select logical volumes to be added to the replication group and press Enter.
Note: A preceding ‘@’ indicates the volume was already added.Additionally, you can perform the below steps to choose multiple volumes and add logical volumes in a specific volume group:- To select one or more volumes, move the cursor to them and press F7.
- To add all logical volumes in a specific volume group, select ALL_Logical_Volumes_IN_<vg_name> (where, vg_name is the volume group name) and move the cursor to it and press F7.
Select one recovery volume group by moving the cursor to it and pressing Enter. The request to add the volumes to the replication group is submitted. The user can select __PRODUCTION_MATCH__ option. In this case, the recovery volume group will match the production volume group for all selected volumes.
- Move the cursor to Remove Volumes from a Replication Group and press Enter.
On the resulting Select Replication Group panel, select a replication group to remove volumes from and press Enter.
The Select Logical Volumes panel appears.
Select one or more volumes by moving the cursor to them and pressing F7.
Once all desired volumes are selected, press Enter. The request to remove volumes from the replication group is submitted.
- Move the cursor to Configure/Sync a Replication Group and press Enter.
Select a replication group to configure/upload on the resulting Select
Replication Group panel, and press Enter. The Configure/Sync a Replication Group panel appears.
Fill in all required entry fields and press Enter. The request to configure/synchronize the replication group is submitted.
Remove a Replication Group
- Move the cursor to highlight Remove a Replication Group and press Enter.
Select a replication group to remove from the resulting Select Replication
Group panel, and press Enter. The request to remove the replication group is submitted.
Show a Replication Group
- Move the cursor to Show a Replication Group and press Enter.
Select a replication group to be shown on the resulting Select Replication Group panel and press Enter. he selected replication group will be displayed. To navigate across the various panels, use page up and page down.
Add/Remove the Third Node
- Move the cursor to Add the Third Node to A Replication Group and press Enter.

Select a replication group to add on the resulting Select Replication Group panel, and press Enter. The Add the Third Node To a Replication Group panel appears.
- Select a node to Add in this panel and press Enter.
To remove the Third Node from a Replication Group
- Move the cursor to highlight Remove the Third Node and press Enter.

Selecta replication group to add on the resulting Select Replication Group panel, and press Enter. The Add the Third Node To a Replication Grouppanel appears.
