In order for to Spectrum Technology Platform to access data sources, the associated table must first be included in the repository as a named table.

Named tables should also have a named connection defined. For instructions, see Creating a Connection.

Named tables can be used in Spectrum Technology Platform in the following ways:

  • In the Feature Service or WFS to search for features that meet some criteria
  • In a named map, indirectly through layers
  • In a RenderMap request on the Mapping Service
  • In a RenderNamedMapWithOverlay that includes layers
  • In Dataflows and Stages, such as Read Spatial Data
