A named layer is a type of named resource that defines the properties of how features from a table are displayed on the map. A Named Layer will reference a single Named Table or a Named View. It can contain properties such as the styles to be used, at what zoom levels the layer appears on the map layer, and so on. One or more Named Layers can be referenced by Named Maps but you can also render Named Layers directly in render map requests.
