Returns a specified number of leftmost characters from a string.
Syntax
Left ( str, len )
Arguments
str is a string, and
len is an integer, greater than or equal to zero.
Remarks
Left returns a string consisting of the leftmost len characters of the string expression str. The len parameter should be an integer value greater than or equal to zero. If len is equal to zero, a null value is returned. If len is greater than or equal to the length of the string str, then the entire string, str, is returned.
