The MAP function is used to perform source to target data mapping within a function or nested set of functions. This function maps a source field/column, variable or function output to a target field.

Important: Deprecated in Connect CDC (SQData) V3.

In V2, the MAP function was the only method of performing source to target data mapping within a function or nested Function set.

Syntax
MAP(source_value, 'target_field' )
Parameters and Descriptions
Parameter Description
source_value This parameter specifies the name of a source field, variable or function/function group whose result is to be mapped to a target field.
'target_field' This parameter specifies the name of a target field that will have data mapped into it. The name of the target field must be enclosed in single quotes (').

Example

Map target map a group of fields from source if the value of SRC_FIELD is A. This technique can be used to filter unwanted source data.
IF SRC_FIELD1 = 'A'
      {
      MAP(SRC_FIELD1, 'TGT_FIELD1')
      MAP(SRC_FIELD2, 'TGT_FIELD2')
      MAP(SRC_FIELD3, 'TGT_FIELD3')
      MAP(SRC_FIELD4, 'TGT_FIELD4')
      }
