The CLEAR_RECORD function performs two operations:
  • Sets all fields/columns of the specified record to NULL eliminating the need for individual initialization of potentially a large number of items.
  • Resets all field/column level mapping indicators. These indicators facilitate manually mapping or populating the value of individual fields/columns once. The AUTOMAP and REPLICATE functions can then be used to populate the remaining target fields/columns automatically, skipping those manually mapped and significantly reducing the complexity of the Apply Engine script while at the same time raising performance.
