Consider the following workflow when implementing the ODBC job implementation strategy

At the Database Connection dialog in the Task
Editor, add and verify the database connection within Connect ETL.
For information on adding a database connection and verifying the connection, see the “Database connection dialog” topic in the Connect ETL help.
When defining the target in the Target database dialog,
do the following:
- At the Connection field, select the database connection that you added at the Database Connection dialog.
- In the Tables section, select the Vertica table to which you will load data.
- In the Fields and Values section, map the input data source fields to the corresponding Vertica table fields.
When initiated, the task accesses the data from the defined source and loads it through the established ODBC connection to the Vertica database target.
