The type of Hive table to which data is staged temporarily is determined as follows:
- When Work table directory is specified, Connect for Big Data stages the data to a text-backed Hive external table.
- When a work table directory is not specified, Connect for Big Data stages the data to a text-backed Hive managed table.
The temporary text-backed Hive table is deleted at the end of the Connect for Big Data job.
