PostgreSQL is a powerful, open source object-relational database system that uses and extends the SQL language combined with many features that safely store and scale the most complicated data workloads. The origins of PostgreSQL date back to 1986 as part of the POSTGRES project at the University of California at Berkeley and has more than 30 years of active development on the core platform.

For additional information on PostgreSQL, see https://www.postgresql.org . Connect uses Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) to establish a connection to the PostgreSQL database.
  1. Select Metadata and right-click to open the Database Connection dialog box.
  2. In the Database Connection dialog box, do the following:
    • select Other for DBMS
    • select ODBC for Access method
    • select PostgreSQL ODBC DSN which was previously configured through ODBC Database Administrator
