The TYPE modifier is used with the STREETS routine to prevent specific street names from being recoded to blanks before making comparison score determination. Lower scores are assigned for more accurate matching. TYPE only works within the field oraddrl2. In that field, the system looks at the whole address line instead of only the first part.
TYPE should only be necessary when the field being compared includes both street name and street type.
