When the notes you or others have added to an attribute or data source become obsolete, you can delete them from the repository. Deleting the note permanently removes the note text, metadata, comments, and history.

There are two ways to delete a note:

  • From the Notes (for data sources) and Notes: attribute_name (for attributes) tabs.
  • When you open a note for editing.
Note: Users with access to the repository have permissions to delete any notes regardless of whether they originally created the note.

To delete notes

  1. Open a Notes tab to view all associated notes. See Viewing Notes.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • From a Notes/Notes: attribute_name tab, select the note(s) you want to delete. Click Delete.
    • Double click a note to open the Edit Note window. Click the trash can delete button.

    A delete confirmation message opens.

  3. Click Yes to delete the note(s) or No to close the message without deleting the note(s).
