When you import data into , the import process names entities and attributes differently, depending on the data source type and the settings you select for the import.

In some cases, you might want to make names more meaningful. For example, if a COBOL copybook represents "First Name" as "123-g56", you can change the name that displays in to be "First Name."

To change the displayed name for an attribute

  1. In the Navigation View, find the attribute you want to edit.
  2. Right-click the attribute name and select Attribute Properties. The AttributeProperties window opens.
  3. On the Analysis tab, In the Attribute field, enter the new name you want displayed for this attribute.
  4. (Optional) In the Business Description field, enter a brief description of the attribute.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Refresh icon on the Home tab to refresh the display.
