You can review Grade Patterns currently in effect for the Relationship Linker or Reference Matcher at any time. The default rules are given for each country.

To review the current patterns

  1. Launch the Relationship Linker Rules Editor and move to the Grade Pattern Editor window. The rules are listed in a spreadsheet format. The columns are described below.
    Column Name Description
Category The type of match represented by the pattern of grades. The options are P (Pass), S (Suspect), and F (Fail).
    Pattern ID

A unique, user-defined identification number for the combination of matching attributes and grades. Patterns define the criteria that determine whether the match is considered a pass, suspect, or fail.

    Note: Maximum length is nine.
    Description

The remaining columns contain grade letters for each rule in the Field List table. The column name must match the name in the Description column of the Field List.

The grade letters correspond to the numeric score. For example, a score 100 is grade A, a score 95 is grade B, and so on. Valid grades are A, B, C, D, E, F, M, and a dash (-) as a wildcard character.

    Note:

A grade "M" is used for probabilistic matching.

  2. Scroll through the table to review each pattern.
  3. Optional: Change tabs and repeat Step 2.
  4. Choose Exit from the File menu when your review is complete.
