Trillium Quality’s Reference Matcher process compares the rows in one entity (the transaction file, containing new records) to the rows in another entity (the reference file, containing existing records). The comparison identifies rows that are unique and rows that match, or nearly match, existing records. You can then use this information to update your master database.
To compare new records to existing records, create, test and refine a Reference Matcher project in the Control Center, then export the project to be used in real time or in a batch process.
Note: There are alternative ways to create projects that detect duplicate records; this chapter illustrates one technique.
