In a standard project, the Window Key Generator creates a single window key. For multi-matching, you need a window key for each criteria you want Trillium Quality to examine for potential matches.

You can create up to 30 window keys, but for this example, we will use three:

  • One based on name and address data (this is the standard)

  • One based on e-mail address

  • One based on phone number

To create the required window keys

  1. Open the Window Key Generator process. The Keys window opens.  Notice that Window Key 01 is already defined.

  2. (Optional) Modify the rules for the predefined window key. For the sample project, no changes are necessary.

Note: The default rules for window key 1 are: first three characters in the postal code, followed by two characters from the surname or business name, followed by two characters from the street name, followed by the record type (business or consumer).
  3. Add window key 2.

    1. In the Input Attributes list, select WINDOW_KEY_02 and click the Add button .

    2. Click Definition. The Window Key Rules for Window Key Generator window opens.

    3. Click the Manage tab.

    4. Verify that Insert is selected in the Operation list.

    5. Verify that the Select the rule after which new rule has to be inserted option is not selected.

    6. Click Next. The Add Window Key Rule window opens.

    7. Fill in the fields for the window key rules. For this sample project, we are using the following settings:

      • Attribute: Email

      • Number of characters: 15

      • Selection basis: Any character

      • Non-alphanumeric character to start after: blank

      • Alternative attribute: Never

    8. Click Finish.

  4. Repeat Step 3 to create window key 3 for using the phone number attribute. Use the following settings:

    • Attribute:  Phone

    • Number of characters: 12

    • Selection basis: Any character

    • Non-alphanumeric character to start after: blank

    • Alternative attribute: Never

Note: For our sample project, window keys 2 and 3 have only one rule each.
  5. Click Finish to save the changes.
