The Relationship Linker process identifies the relationship between rows in a file. In a multi-match project, the output of the first Relationship Linker process becomes the master file, which is later updated by the results of the second and third Relationship Linker processes. The sample project uses the default values for most of the settings and compares the rows based on the predefined name and address linking rules. The only difference is that it uses only consumer level 1 and business level 1 for the match rules.

Note: You can find detailed information in the TSS Help about the standard linking rules (Reference Material > Standard Relationship Linker Rules).

To set up the first Relationship Linker process and run Part 1 of the project

  1. Open the Relationship Linker process.

  2. Click the Process tab and click Advanced. The Linking window opens.

  3. Click the Match Rules tab and select the Consumer level 1 rules required? and Business level 1 rules required? check boxes. Clear the other boxes.

  4. Click Back and click Finish.

  5. Run Part 1 of the project from the Transformer process through the Relationship Linker process.

  6. Review the output to ensure that you have the expected results. The output for the sample project is shown in the figure below.
