You can copy metadata such as business rules and joins from an existing entity into the dynamic entity you are creating.

To copy metadata and create a dynamic entity

  1. On the Discover bar, click Entities. A list of all pre-defined entities opens.

  2. Right-click the entity that has the metadata you want to copy and select Copy Metadata to new entity.

  3. Choose one of the following options:

    Choose

    To Copy

Self joins (joins on attributes within the same entity)

    All permanent self joins

    All joins

    All permanent joins

    No joins

    No joins will be copied

The Server Action message opens prompting you to confirm new entity creation.

  4. Click OK.

A new entity is created and displays in the Navigation View with the name of the source entity and a unique object ID number. The new entity’s icon () indicates that this is a dynamic entity and does not contain data, only metadata.
