Connect CDC

This section details the events that occur when the Connect CDC Listener restarts.

  1. The Connect CDC Listener is started and reads the activekernels file. The activekernels file contains a single line for each active model prior to the Connect CDC Listener shutdown.

This file is located in the kernel directory and named:activekernels_<hostname>_<listener port number>.txt

  2. The Connect CDC Listener starts the kernel process for each model listed in the activekernels file.

  3. If the now active model has tables that are capture enabled, the associated Change Selector is started.

  4. The now active kernel reads its associated activerequests file and starts the listed requests. These requests are marked as active, prior to the Connect CDC Listener shutdown.

This file is located in the kernel directory and named: activerequests_<model name>_<host label>.txt

  5. The Email notify process will be restarted if it had been running on that host for the related kernel.
