Before you install the metabase, you must have already defined a server. The Install Metabase process prompts you for information to connect to your UDB server and, depending on the status of the metabase that it detects, lets you create the metabase database and objects, or upgrade the metabase objects.
You need two user IDs:

SYSADM userid—userid with privilege to grant DBADM to replication userid

Replication userid—From Server Properties, this userid is given DBADM authority. It needs insert, update, and delete permission on source/target user tables.
