Depending on your selection in the Mapping tab, Method column, in the Sending or Receiving Table Properties dialog, you can display either the Target Column Expression or Mapping Method Parameters dialog.
To display the Target Column Expression dialog:

Select Expression on the Mapping tab, Method column of the Sending or Receiving Table Properties dialog.

Click the Edit source button
To display the Mapping Method Parameters dialog:

Select any Method other than Expression on the Mapping tab, Method column of the Sending or Receiving Table Properties dialog.

Click the Edit source button
To define an expression:

Use the workbox in the Target Column Expression dialog to specify your column expression. See Target Column Expression.

Click the Validate button, and correct any syntax errors.
The expression is ultimately prepared and evaluated at the source host.
