If Use prepared statements is selected, this mapping uses prepared SQL statements. (If there are multiple mappings for the same target table, you can set this parameter for each mapping.) A prepared SQL statement is a statement in which the steps to parse, analyze, validate, and determine the access path are only done once the statement is first prepared.

If prepared statements are enabled in the Server Properties dialog, deselecting Use prepared statements disables prepared statements for this table only. If prepared statements are disabled in the Server Properties dialog, this parameter is not available. (See Create servers for additional information on prepared statements).
