Connect CDC

In this exercise, the data to be distributed is contained in a single table mapping. In actual practice, the set of data to be copied or replicated may include multiple table mappings. You define to Connect CDC Director the table mappings whose data is distributed together by assigning them to a distribution. If a single table mapping is to be distributed, it must be assigned its own distribution.

You use a request to specify the plan for moving the distribution. The request includes if the data is copied or replicated, when that data is sent, and if it requires special transaction error handling.

In these exercises, you specify a copy request for the distribution first, then specify a replication request for the same distribution. The copy request ensures that source and target tables are initially synchronized; the replication request captures and applies the ensuing data updates.
