Once you have defined your model and installed a metabase, you can:

  • Test the server connection

  • Create table mappings

  • Automatically create target tables and add to a distribution

  • Check journaling status (IBM i)

  • Create a distribution and copy request

  • Define paths and path groups

  • Validate the model

  • Name and save the model

  • Commit the model

Note: Do not change the metabase owner or default connections. The user profile specified as the Login id on the Properties, Host tab owns the metabase objects and any additional tables that Connect CDC Director creates. It is strongly recommended that you do not change this user and do not change the default connections. Otherwise, product failure due to object security and access errors may occur. On IBM i, if you use a different user profile later, it requires all the authorities of the metabase owner profile as well as *ALLOBJ authority for any shadow tables or lookup tables that exist.
