Generate Item Variant: Creates variants for individual records in the repository. It simplifies the process of generating variants by utilizing predefined variant definition attributes associated with each record. Users can utilize this feature when adding or editing a specific record, enabling them to quickly generate variants based on the attributes provided in the record.
Update Variant: Allows users to modify or improve the existing record variants the repository. It facilitates seamless updates to variant attributes, ensuring accurate and up-to-date record details.
The availability of these features is determined by the configuration property
"repository.editor.item.showEnabledVariantButton". When this property, along with the
utility "RECORD_LISTING_UTILITIES_VARIANTS," is set to true, the Update/Generate
Variants option appears in the Classic UI. Otherwise, when set to false, this option is
deactivated. For information about generating variants, see Variant Record Generation.

existing users, this functionality is enabled by default.
