MIMIX currently replicates IFS path names of 512 characters. However, any MIMIX command that takes an IFS path name as input may be susceptible to a 506 character limit. This character limit may be reduced even further if the IFS path name contains embedded apostrophes (') or trailing blanks. In this case, the supported IFS path name length is reduced by four characters for every apostrophe the path name contains.
