There is a separate installation wizard (Assure User Interface Portal & Portal Application Installation Wizard for Windows®) for each product portal application that can be deployed on a version 10.0 Assure Unified Interface (UI) server on a Windows platform. While each wizard installs only one portal application for a specific Precisely product, the requirements and installation choices described here are common. The Assure Unified Interface was previously known as VSP.
The name of the installation wizard executable (exe) identifies the version of the product portal application that it installs.
The wizard automatically installs the Assure UI server (version 10.0) and the portal application for the selected product onto a system running a supported release of the Windows® operating system. The wizard also automatically installs Java 8 JRE.
The Assure UI server provides support for browser-based user interfaces to multiple Precisely products that have portal applications. A portal application provides a browser-based user interface for a product that is already installed in its native operating system environment.
