Assure MIMIX

System managers  automatically distribute configuration and status changes among systems in a MIMIX installation. There are multiple system manager processes associated with each system.

Between each pair of communicating systems there are always two system manager processes. Each system manager process consists of a remote journal link (RJ Link) that transmits journal entries in one direction between a pair of systems and two processing jobs that apply the journal entries to MIMIX files on the target system of the RJ link. A high-priority processing job applies entries such as configuration changes and a low-priority processing job applies entries such as status.

Figure 1 shows a MIMIX installation with a management system and two network systems. Each arrow represents one system manager process and the direction in which it transmits data.

In environments with more than two systems, MIMIX restricts which systems can communicate based on their designation as a management (*MGT) or network (*NET) system. By default, each management systems communicates with all network systems and all other management systems. Network systems communicate only with management systems. When licensed for multiple management systems, you can limit which management systems communicate with each network system.
