Assure MIMIX

A journal-centric configuration is enabled at the data group level. When using the Assure MIMIX portal application, you can enable journal-centric configuration for a resource group or a data group not associated with an application group.

Instead of identifying objects to replicate with selection rules, a data group of type Database Only or All (*DB or *ALL) needs only to specify the user journal, that you want to use journal-centric configuration (JRNCENTRIC), and which journal-capable object types to enable for replication from the journal. You can specify any combination of these object types: *DTAARA, *DTAQ, *FILE, *IFS, and *LIB.

When the data group is started, MIMIX automatically adds all objects of the specified object types that are journaled to the user journal to the internal list of objects eligible for replication. When a journal-centric data group is created from the Assure UI portal, MIMIX also creates the necessary file selection rules (data group file entries), object tracking and IFS tracking activity entries needed for the journaled objects.

Note: When a journal-centric data group is created from the native user interface (5250), you must manually create the data group file entries, object tracking entries, and IFS tracking entries using the appropriate Load commands (LODDGFE, LODDGOBJTE, LODDGIFSTE) respectively. MIMIX recognizes the data group is journal-centric and will create the appropriate entries when you use default values on the commands.

MIMIX replicates transactions for journaled objects of the specified object types through the user journal.
