Always follow the installation procedure provided in the Finalist Installation Guide for the current release. Do not use installation procedures from previous releases of Finalist to install the Finalist 10.0 release.

z/OS Installation Process

  1. Modify uploadz.ftp as appropriate for your site and invoke by running uploadz.bat. The RECEIVEB.JCL, RECEIVEC.JCL, and RECEIVEI.JCL will be uploaded to your mainframe and should then be modified for your site and submitted to receive the *.UNLOAD files. It is not necessary to run RECEIVEC.JCL or RECEIVEI.JCL if you are not running CICS or IMS respectively.
  2. Upon completion of the FTP UPLOAD and z/OS RECEIVEx jobs (condition code 00), you will need to complete the following steps for the product installations:
    1. For the base product: Submit the INSTALLB from the FNSOURCE PDS from your base Finalist installation.
    2. For CICS users: After the base product (INSTALLB) has been installed, submit the INSTALLC job from the FNSOURCE PDS from your base Finalist installation. Upon completion (condition code <= 4), restart your CICS region.

    3. For IMS users: Submit the INSTALI2 job from the FNSOURCE PDS from your base Finalist installation. Additional IMS configuration may be required.

If you are running the Compatibility Interface (CI - aka Wrapper), or CICS or IMS, you MUST also submit the KEYSTORE job from the FNSOURCE PDS. The KEYSTORE JCL must be submitted once for each library you are running, Batch, CICS, and/or IMS. Failure to run KEYSTORE could result in an ABEND S0C4 when calling Finalist.
Note: This update is for all z/OS product and options. You should install the Finalist base before installing CICS.

UNIX Installation Process

Copy the FINALIST.Z file to your system then follow instructions in the Installation Guide.

Windows Installation Process

Double-click the Setup.exe file to begin the installation process.

Linux Installation Process

Copy the FINALIST.Z file to your system then follow instructions in the Installation Guide.
