A refining table can be used to make geocoding more precise, particularly where streets cut across multiple districts. In order for MapInfo to match to the appropriate record, you must tell it to search the boundary field as well as the address field. A successful match is one that matches both the street address and the boundary. If you do not use the refining table, your record will be geocoded to the first matching street MapInfo finds in the Linked Address file.
