Metadata, in its simplest definition, is data about data. Metadata describes the content, source, history, structure and support that may exist for a data product or entity. Precisely metadata exists in two forms:
  • Metadata for the complete product is included in the following files in the respective _metadata folder:
    • SPD_Metadata_YYYY_MM.xml for StreetPro Display products
    • SPP_Metadata_YYYY_MM.xml for StreetPro Navigation Premium products

where YYYY and MM depicts the product vintage year and month.

  • Metadata as keyword and value pairs can be found within each MapInfo format table (.TAB file) - for Classic tables only.

Metadata is designed to be compliant with the 2003 ISO Geospatial metadata standard. This enables data products from Precisely to be cataloged by any system that uses ISO metadata standards.
