M (non-Toll Road)

N (Toll Road)

Arterial Motorway/Freeway Roads which are of importance in a national sense, and/or are a major interstate through route, and/or are principal connector roads between capitals and/or major regions and or key towns/commercial centers/inter-transport hubs. Also exhibit multiple carriageways and unhindered, regulated traffic flow through use of grade-separated crossings and entry/exit ramps. These roads are officially assigned as Motorways.
I (non-Toll Road)

G (Toll Road)

Arterial Major Road Roads which are of importance in a national sense, and/or are a major interstate through route, and/or are principal connector roads between capitals and/or major regions and or key towns/commercial centers/inter-transport hubs.
P (non-Toll Road)

Q (Toll Road)

Arterial Other Major Road Well maintained and widely used roads which are major connectors for national highways or state highways, major centers, key towns, or have major tourist importance or which main function is to form the principal avenue of communication for metropolitan traffic movements.
S (non-Toll Road)

T (Toll Road)

Collector Secondary Road Acts as connector between highways and/or arterial roads, or as an alternative for arterial roads, or a principal avenue for massive traffic movements.
C (non-Toll Road)

F (Toll Road)

Collector Local Connecting Road All roads making all settlements accessible or making parts (north, south, east, west and central) of a settlement accessible.
L (non-Toll Road)

W (Toll Road)

Collector Local (Important) Road

All local roads that are main connections in a settlement. These are the roads where important through traffic is:

  • arterial roads in suburban areas, industrial areas or residential areas;
  • a rural road which has the sole function of connecting to a national park or important tourist attraction.
D (non-Toll Road)

E (Toll Road)

Local Local Road All roads used to travel within a part of a settlement or roads of minor connecting importance in a rural area.
R (non-Toll Road)

Local Local (Minor) Road All roads that have only a destination function (dead-end roads, roads inside living areas, alleys, roads in parks or gardens, etc.)
U (non-Toll Road)

V (Toll Road)

Local Other Road All roads that only have a destination function and are not accessible by a passenger car
Z Local Limited Access\Private Road

All roads that only have a destination function and are not commonly accessible by the public, such as gated communities.

H - Ferry Ferry used for the transportation of vehicles and pedestrians.
Z - Pedestrian A road or passage whose main purpose is to provide non-vehicular access for pedestrians but may allow some vehicular access (e.g. malls). Also includes arcades, bike trails and walking paths.
