All tables contain metadata that describes aspects of the content, including spatial data information (bounding coordinates, number and type of objects), and keywords for the geography and type of content). This data is stored in the .TAB file and can be accessed in one of two ways:
- Open up the .TAB file in a text editor. The .TAB file is simple ASCII text and the metadata can be found at the bottom of this text, displayed in a <key name> = <key value> format.
- Use the MapInfo Pro Table Manager tool, which is accessible through Tools> Tool Manager > Table Manager.
