It is not possible to open the StreetPro Extended TAB files in 32-bit version of MapInfo Pro.
Users who are still migrating from legacy MapInfo Pro 32-bit software to 64-bit will need to obtain a copy of the 64-bit version of MapInfo Pro in order to convert Extended TAB files to 32-bit Native TAB files.
To convert the StreetPro Extended TAB files to Native Tab files:
- Launch the 64-bit version of MapInfo Pro but do not open any data files.
- Click Pro>Options>System
Settings.
- In the lower right corner, make sure New Tables>Format is
set to MapInfo not MapInfo Extended. Leave the Unicode
setting at UTF-16 since saving a copy in regular *.TAB format should
default to the correct character set.
- After the settings have been made, restart MapInfo Pro to save changes.
-
Open the Extended TAB file to be converted to Native TAB in this 64-bit version of MapInfo Pro.
- Click Home > SaveNote: Before saving, make sure to select the proper file type in the Save Copy as dialog. Select Save as and type MapInfo (*.tab) not MapInfo Extended (*.tab).
- Open this newly saved *.TAB file in change text editor and make the edits
shown below.
- Change the version number of the file from 1520 to 450 and save the change.
- Change the character set value from UTF-8 to the appropriate character set for the country.
- Change the Type
- Save changes and close the text editor.
- Open the newly edited copy in a 32-bit version of MapInfo Pro
