The display font in MapInfo Pro may also need to be changed for characters to display correctly. As each browser is opened, change the font of the browser using either the Text Style button on the Drawing toolbar, or by clicking Options > Text style… to open the font change dialog. You can also use the shortcut key <F8> to open this dialog.

Latin-2 countries may open with Arial CE as the default font. In this case, no further action is needed. However, if the font is Arial, it will need to be changed.
Note: Arial does not support many of the special characters found in non-Latin alphabets, but there are several variants of Arial that do:

Tahoma is the recommended font, because it supports many special characters in Cyrillic, Greek, and Turkish alphabets, as well as associated diacritical marks.

The default label style can be changed by clicking Options > Preferences ... > Styles .... The Text style can then be set to the appropriate font.
