Each table that you open in StreetPro displays as a separate layer in the Map window. For example, streets in New York State display in a layer called nystreets, and point objects that represent parks display in a layer called nyslanduse.
Use Map > Layer Control or click
to manage the layers in the Map window. Every layer that displays in the Map
window is listed in the Layer Control dialog box. From this dialog box you
can:
- Turn off the display of some layers without removing them from the map.
- Change how the layers look while they are displayed in the Map window.
- Set the labeling conditions for each layer.
- Set whether a layer is editable, selectable, or visible.
- Set the zoom level so that local features display only when you are in close enough to see the detail.
- Re-order the layers to hide or expose other map features.
- Remove layers from, or add other layers to, the window.
Layer Control is the central location for controlling what you can do and see in the Map window. MapInfo Pro documentation set (User’s Guide, Reference, and Online Help) provides thorough discussions of working with Layer Control.
