How to select a right product among World Points of Interest Premium and World Points of Interest Premium Consumer?
When selecting the right Precisely Points of Interest product, it is important to understand how the two products differ.

Within each of the trade divisions included in World Points of Interest Premium Consumer, any types of point that are not considered consumer facing are also removed. For a full list of point types in each product, please see the respective product’s MiCode list, in MiCode List.
Why are there multiple POIs at same location?
The World Points of Interest dataset can legitimately contain multiple Points located at the same location/coordinates. This usually occurs in the following scenarios:
- A building containing multiple businesses or features of interest all
sharing the same address due to:
- Limited address information such as addresses with no unit numbers in the source data leading the geocoder to locate the data to a single location.
- The geocoder does not have individual unit/sub unit locations available for a location so geocodes to a single location.
- Where multiple businesses are registered to a single location by their owners.
Examples –
- ‘Business Consulting’ companies located at the 90 State Street, NYC address
are customers of My Startup LLC, a quick-service
business registration agent at same address. A business may want to use an agent’s
address before they have their storefront opened and may later change the physical
address with the secretary of state. If it is a home-based business they may elect
to continue using the agent’s address.

Why are there records with numbers in the name column of POIs?
The World Points of Interest dataset derives some information from business registration records. In few instances, the business registrations for these companies have the company name listed with numbers.
What does it mean when the SIC8 value is blank but there is an SIC8_Description provided?
For cases, where the SIC8 value is not available, the SIC8_Description represents the MiCode categorization of the POI.
